About Red 225
Red 225 is a not-for-profit blog and former art gallery based in Nashville, TN.
The website’s literature primarily features 20-question interviews with creatives, and exhibition reviews penned 200 words or less by Kathleen Boyle.
The gallery closed on November 30, 2024. It was honored to share the talents of visual artists who had the courage to explore their own aesthetic in a world saturated with images. It was a place of peace and ideas, and was welcome to all. The gallery’s hours were Saturdays, by appointment, and 5:00-8:00 p.m. during Nashville’s First Saturday Art Crawl.
Red 225 is named after the only lipstick shade that owner Kathleen Boyle wears, a signature of sorts. Boyle holds a BA in Art History, MFA in Art Criticism and Writing, and MA in Art History. She is the Senior Manager of Exhibitions for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as an art history professor for Nashville-area colleges. Red 225 is her labor of love.
